My First Few Weeks as a Producer
The last few weeks have been an incredible learning journey for myself starting this new role. Over the recent years creating content for social media, the biggest adjustment is now catering for broadcast television. A brand new software to learn, as the industry standard is Avid, different cameras, and requirements to insure things can run smoothly for the people watching at home.
Right now my main responsibility is “The Sports Shed” a weekly show that dives into the world of sport. We run an 8 minute segment with my co-host and then I typically will host a zoom interview. I’m learning about how to reach-out to new individuals, and perform extensive research to help prepare.
I’m looking forward to what the next few months will bring as I’ve already interviewed CFL, QMJHL, WHL, Canadian Skelton, athletes & staff members.
A windy day in Torbay, Newfoundland.
Exploring Torbay
For the first weekend of 2021 I decided to hit the highway, a quick drive to the town of Torbay. A classic messy storm made it a slow trip but, I arrived safe and sound. Listening to a couple of my favourite podcast episodes past the time away nicely.
I first stopped into the Torbakery and grabbed some pastries, with homemade bread. Then I walked down to the water facing the wild winds.
